How do I send and account for trust requests with LeanLaw?

This article outlines how to send trust requests and account for those requests once paid through the Gravity Legal / LeanLaw integration.

Prerequisites

Sending a Trust Request

  • Log in to LeanLaw and navigate to  Quick create + > Trust Request.

  • Complete the Request Trust Funds form.
  • Click Request Funds.
  • A Gravity Legal Payment Link will automatically be created and added to the email that is sent to the client.

  • When the client uses the Payment Link to complete their trust payment, the amount paid is added to the client's trust liability subaccount in QuickBooks Online. If the trust request was submitted at the matter level, QuickBooks will associate the amount paid to the matter as well.
